As a public official who holds one of the highest positions in the land, Senator Antonio Trillanes’ stature is carefully judged and criticized, down to what he wears.

The celebrity status is a norm for most politicians, but the reason why Trillanes went viral once again is because of a grammatical mistake in his official letter to the Anti-Money Laundering Council requesting for President Rodrigo Duterte’s bank transactions.

A Philippine Military Academy (PMA) alumnus, Romeo Poquiz, said he was ashamed that someone like Trillanes, who is also a PMA graduate, writes letters with grammatical mistakes.

La Salle professor Antonio Contreras even mocked the letter said that, “we are in deep trouble when we have a senator of the land who writes a letter like this. My teach instincts wants to get a red pen and give this letter a failing grade.”

Netizens were quick to point out the errors in syntax and grammar in the letter, but the most obvious mistake was the line “I am looking forward to your expeditiously action on this request.”
