TV5 Lingao is always afraid, but not of the Tulfo brothers

When TV5 radio commentator Erwin Tulfo reacted to colleague Ed Lingao’s post calling out Erwin for cussing at Senator Risa Hontiveros based on fake news reports, Lingao accepted the fistfight Erwin challenged him with.

But while the fistfight never happened yet, Lingao had already dished out his statement after Erwin’s brother and also a radio personality Ben Tulfo slammed Lingao in his own 38-minute broadcast.

Lingao said that just like his brother Erwin, Ben was also incapable of reading posts thoroughly after Ben accused Lingao of urging TV5 to fire or suspend Erwin.

Having many followers does not reflect the “correctness” of one’s statements, as Lingao argued. During Ben’s broadcast, he emphasized his and Erwin’s number of followers as if it was a “big deal”, but Lingao only schooled the siblings on the matter by saying that it does not make their statements correct just because they have a large following.

Ben accused Lingao of being part of the paid, yellow journalists which Lingao denies. However, he lauded the siblings for using that yellow tactic in order to make anti-yellow trolls attack him.

Lingao also debunked Ben’s claims that the former is fond of using bulletproof jackets and helmets. Lingao enumerated that he had only worn a bulletproof jacket once in Iraq, and a helmet thrice. On the other hand, Ben often uses bulletproof vests during police operations.

The veteran journalist also hit on the fake American slang of the brothers contrary to his “bulol”.

Lingao eventually affirms what the brothers say about him being afraid. “Oo, takot ako parati,” Lingao said, but not of the brothers. Instead he is afraid as any journalist is, but Lingao asserts that it is only natural for a journalist to be afraid as long as he pursues his/her task.

Once again, Lingao taunts the brothers with their initial invite to a fistfight saying that they can see him at his office and during the time he’s there.

In his full post on Facebook, Lingao said,

Eh bakit inuulit ulit mo hijo? (Tinatawag kitang hijo kahit matanda ka. Bakit kaya?)

2. You and your brother seem to make a very big deal out of the fact that you have so many followers. Uhm, yun ba ang target mo? Hindi yun ang sa akin eh. Kahit estudyante, sasabihin sa iyo that the number of followers is not directly related to the correctness of your statements.

5. Speaking of props. I will "pulborize" you! Ano gagamitin mo, pulburon? Slang ka pa dyan. :)

Courage is not the absence of fear; it is the ability and the willingness to go on inspite of the fear.
