Government authorities seized ten packs of shabu amounting to Php 15,000 along with firearms and explosives in former Marawi City Mayor Fajad Salic’s residence on June 8, 2017 (Thursday).

The Martial Law Special Action Group (ML SAG) took away four M203 grenade launchers, 120 live ammunition, a holster, a gunbox, an M16, and a Toyota Fortuner with a gun bag after a warrant was issued following Salic’s imprisonment.

ML SAG is a government team up of the military, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) of the police, Northern Mindanao Police, Cagayan de Oro City Police Office, and the anti-illegal drugs agency.

Another raid was conducted in Salic’s second house within the same subdivision although there was no illegal items found. The former mayor and his daughter-in-law did not sign the warrant receipt since they refused to do so.

Salic was arrested on grounds of rebellion as he was linked to the Maute group attack in Marawi. Salic persistently denied any connection to the terrorist group.

Police Regional Office-10 spokesperson Lemuel Gonda said CIDG will keep charge of Salic while his rebellion charge is pending.
