Former policeman under late Jesse Robredo shot dead
A former policeman who used to work for the late Jesse Robredo was killed by unidentified men on August 16, 2014 at his own residence in Makati City.

Retired SPO3 Dionisio “Dennis” Tan formerly served as a police officer in Naga City and was eventually tapped by Robredo to work under him when Robredo became the Department of Interior and Local Governance (DILG) Secretary.
The Philippine Daily Inquirer which wrote the article on Tan’s death reported that one of Tan’s househelps disclosed to them that she constantly heard Tan heatedly argue with all cursing and swearing on the phone days before he was shot dead.
Police investigation rounded up that Tan was possibly killed due to his service or to the security and detective agency he was running that time.
Police report shows that Tan just got home and alighted his car when a man carrying a .45 gun approached Tan and shot him dead.
Tan was shot several times around 7pm at No. 1888 Orense St. corner Nuestra Señora del Carmen Street. Barangay (village) Guadalupe Nuevo where he lived and was declared dea don arrival at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Taguig City.
Witnesses reported to the police that the suspected gunman was about 5-foot tall with dark complexion and wore a baseball cap and black jacket as he escaped on foot towards Edsa after the incident.
