Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella said Saturday, President Rodrigo Duterte is satisfied with the composition and overall performance of his Cabinet and that a revamp in his officials is far from happening at least for now.

Abella also said that with the lapse of the appointment ban of candidates who lost in the last national elections, Duterte will have a wide range of selections.
He also explained that this lapse does not mean that the President will be filling up Cabinet positions with new personnel because Duterte’s Cabinet lineup is already occupied, except for those who are designated as OICs.
Meanwhile, Dean Fe Mendoza of the University of the Philippines-National College of Public Administration and Governance (UP-NCPAG) said that a Cabinet revamp can happen because the one-year appointment ban of former candidates is expiring.
Mendoza added that "Transition period lang naman yung one year after the election ... at 'yun nga, yung talagang napupusuan niya [Duterte] talagang dapat na mamuno ang ilalagay niya sa pwesto."
She also emphasized that arguments within Duterte's family officials are inevitable because they come from various affiliations, and have their own interests.
Mendoza added that Environment Secretary Gina Lopez and Finance Sec. Carlos Dominguez had a misunderstanding due to their opposite opinions on the termination of numerous mining operations in the country.
Also Duterte dismissed a couple of his teammates such as Interior Secretary Ismael Sueno and National Irrigation Administration Administrator Peter Laviña due to allegations of corruption.
