Bureau of Customs (BOC) Secretary Nicanor Faeldon slammed Senator Antonio Trillanes IV over allegations of aiding China in building a military base in Scarborough Shoal.
Faeldon also enumerated the instances in which Trillanes instigated corruption and lies.
“Si Senator Trillanes, 2004 pa lang ay nagpapanggap na ito,” Faeldon expressed.
The secretary cited a case in 2004 when Trillanes “politicized” the Armed Forces of the Philippines and organized them as the Magdalo party.
“In just one year he started to organize the soldiers we have with us, professional soldiers ‘to, and formed it as a Magdalo party,” Faeldon said being a former marine captain and leader of Oakwood Mutiny of Magdalo group that rallied against a previous administration on grounds of corruption.
The secretary also disclosed that he has seen Trillanes being corrupt.
“Nagpapanggap itong [Trillanes] hindi korap, hindi totoo yan, 2004 pa lang I witnessed him receiving money from politicians coming from the families of ousted president because of a perceived corruption,” Faeldon said.
Additionally, it was also Trillanes that sabotaged Faledon’s attempts in 2012 to occupy Scarborough Shoal so that China will not take it from the Philippines.
During his trip to Scarborough, Faeldon was called up by former President Benigno Aquino III.
“Baka pwedeng huwag niyo muna ipagpaliban yung inyong paglalayag kasi si Sonny [Trillanes] ay makikipagusap sa China,” Aquino asked of Faeldon as the latter narrated it during his speech.
After this event, Trillanes went to Beijing, China 16 times to discuss the Shoal with China. Soon after, China was able to set up a military base in Scarborough and Faeldon pointed out that Trillanes never spoke up about this issue.
Faeldon labeled Trillanes as the “undisputed heavyweight champion of lies” for having allegedly given over Scarborough to China.
