“Dapat higpitan niyo ang pagre-renew ng driver’s license. Pag-examinin niyo ulit. Grabe. Hindi lang mga reckless eh, ang tatanga. Sa tunay na examination, 50 percent [ng drivers] ang babagsak,” said Sotto.
“It’s about time, if we want safety for our people. And besides, that’s one of the causes of traffic eh,” he said.
He also said stricter process in the renewal of licenses would help ease traffic in Metro Manila.
Sotto said he drives everyday going to work and passes by through different streets where a lot of vehicles are illegaly parked.
“Sino gumagawa nun? Eh di yung mga driver na tanga. They violate the law. Paano? Hindi dumaan sa scrutiny eh. Ang dali-dali kumuha ng lisensya,” he said.
He also suggest that Metro Manila should be declared no parking zones just like Singapore.
“The silver bullet to solve the traffic problem in Metro Manila especially in EDSA is to declare Metro Manila streets a no-parking zone,” he said.
