“In the military, we’ve asked the intelligence community, there is none. Maybe in the civilian sector I don’t know if there is. I’m not saying there is but with what I read in the papers everyday, as far as the military is concerned, there is none,” Lorenzana said.
Various government officials have taken security measures against these rumors about deposing Duterte from the presidency.
Communications Secretary Martin Andanar insistently claims that destabilization plans are ongoing based on classified intelligence reports that he has gathered.
Senator Alan Peter Cayetano suggested that it is possible drug lords are the ones involved in these destabilization plots against Duterte.
However, Lorenzana counters that these are criticisms and “we must accept that there will be criticisms on what we do, whether we do right or good. Meron talagang criticism yan (There will be criticisms). Let’s accept that. In fact, we should use that as guidance on how good we are doing.”
Lorenzana assured that although these drug lords are very powerful, they will not be enough to overthrow the presidency of Duterte.
