Duterte has long authorized BPI to reveal his bank records
To counter President Rodrigo Duterte’s confident call to make the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) publicize his net worth, Sentaor Antonio Trillanes IV called it a “political bluff” given the bureaucratic process for AMLC to report on a government official’s bank records.

"Political bluff lang yang panawagan niya sa AMLC kasi alam niya na hindi naman ito gagalaw basta-basta ng walang formal written request," Senator Trillanes claimed.
"At kahit na meron man, hindi mandato ng AMLC na magbilang ng net worth ng sino man," he added.
The senator further challenged the President’s assurance of publicly disclosing his bank records by saying that the latter should instead sign a bank secrecy waiver that would enable citizens to readily access the President’s bank history.
However, Presidential Legal Counsel and President Duterte’s campaign lawyer Salvador Panelo said that the waiver to access Duterte’s Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) account is still valid and has never been recalled.
"The documents signed by the President is authorizing the bank to reveal his account, so the ball is on the bank to do it,” Panelo said.
