China strengthens ties with Davao through Mayor Sara Duterte
The strong ties between China and Davao City has enabled the former to provide generous aid to the city under the leadership of current Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

The International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC) turned over some P30 million worth of aid to Davao City on February 21, 2017 (Tuesday) in the form of a $400,000 school building and $200,000 water pumping station.
Davao City Administrator Zuleika Lopez said that these donations from China's Communist Party is a step closer towards Sara Duterte's aim to provide the basic needs of Davao City.
Thank you for responding to the invitation of our President (Rodrigo Duterte) to visit us in Davao, his home city,” Sara Duterte said in a message.
Among the Chinese officials who personally visitied were Minister Song Tao, Chinese Ambassador Zhao Jianhua; Yuan Zhibing, the Deputy Director General of IDCPC; Peng Xiubin, of the IDCPC Consular Office; Du Dingding, Director of IDCPC; Yu Jun, Director of Chinese Embassy; Zhao Qiang, Deputy Director of IDCPC; Cal Zhigang, Deputy Director of IDCPC (Interpreter); Liu Yongjie, Second Secretary of Chinese Embassy; Wu Lin,Third Secretary of Chinese Embassy; Xu Zhensui, Director General of the China Foundation of Peace and Development (CFPD); Tian Geng, Director of CFPD; and Yao Yuwen, Project Officer of CFPD.
