Why Mindanao? They can be penalized and reformed anywhere else?” Cabantan said over Church-run Radyo Veritas.

What makes the person impure? What comes out of the man, that is what defiles him. This can be done anywhere else. It’s a matter of instituting a holistic transformative program for individuals, systems and structures,” he added.

Cabantan said that transferring to police scalawags to Mindanao is an insult to its people.

Depends on why they bring the scalawags here; we are insulted if we deserve the unruly service of these people, on the other hand, if they are brought here because Mindanao is the best community for their formation and transformation then we will appreciate that. Which of these are their motives for doing so?” the bishop said.

  1. Are you using your common sense, Bishop? They are transferred to Mindanao because it is still a pristine place for them not commit the same mistakes as Metro Manila is congested by foreigners that can be kidnapped and will be used for ransom which is in contrast to Mindanao. And who are you to question the merit of the President's decision? He has all the prerogatives to what he would be doing for the good of the country. Can you just keep your mouth shut and not be involved in any political issues to assure complete separation of the state and the church. And if you insist defrock yourself and involve in politics and maybe you may start as "KAGAWAD" of your barangay.
