Anti-Dutertes in denial of Duterte’s achievements
In half a year, President Rodrigo Duterte has effectively made one million drug users and pushers surrender which is far past the efforts done by previous administrations, according to a writer for MindaNation.

Carlos Munda, MindaNation writer, expressed that despite this achievement President Duterte is still under fire from bashers and critics who are “still focused on the six thousand who have been killed” during the anti-drug war.
Other than the number of surrenderees, the police under the new administration was able to confiscate six billion pesos worth of Shabu last week in just one raid which is only a single incident out of the several drug laboratories shut down in the past six months.
Munda comments that these bashers, often from or supportive of the Liberal Party (LP), are not really lobbying for human rights, but instead are pushing for their vested interests and politics.
He added that the LP has their own “record on media killings, or on the massacre of lumads and protesters, and the rise of the drug lords – and it’s pretty clear that the only reason their riding the issue [human rights] now is because it can possibly be their only ticket back in Malacañan.”
The mainstream media also plays a role in threatening the “stability of the country right now”. Munda quotes Secretary for the Presidential Communications Operations Office Martin Andanar saying ““the media in general has been in a fiesta the last six months using President Digong as their crowd drawer. It would be ideal if the media move on with new enterprising stories for nation building.”
Despite the threats and strategies enforced by the opposing political party and the media, President Duterte remains steadfast in his policies and actions that are geared towards addressing the most salient issues for the Filipino masses.
In his full column entitled “Shit Happens”, Munda writes
"For all the haters out there, here’s a fun fact for you – one million drug users and pushers have now surrendered in the six months that Rodrigo Duterte has been President. Now before you comment let it settle in for a bit… One Million drug users and pushers. That’s a pretty big number huh? But let me guess, you’re still focused on the six thousand who have been killed aren’t you? Thought so.
That’s because nothing we say, and nothing Duterte does will ever get you guys to like him. Just admit it. Admit that despite the evidence that, (1) we really do have a drug problem in this country, (2) this administration is doing far more to fix it than any other in the past, and (3) there is a possibility that the President’s critics could be behind some of the killings in order to derail his programs – nothing will change your mind. The Holy Spirit and all the angels and saints could come down on the side of Duterte, and it won’t mean diddly squat.
So guess what?, fuck you.
We’re tired and we’re just not even going to try talking to you anymore. You can go take a flying fuck at a rolling donut for all we care. You want to go live in denial in that little disente world you created, go ahead. Have fun. We’ll be out here fixing the mess you guys left.
Because it is a pretty big mess you know.
Just last week the police were able to confiscate six billion pesos worth of Shabu in a single raid. Again, before you comment – that’s six followed by nine zeros. And this isn’t even the only raid they’ve done. In the last six months, drug lab after drug lab have been shut down, and billions more in contraband have been taken of the streets. No wonder people are being killed, I’d be doing some killing too if I was a drug lord and all this shit is messing with my business. Haven’t you guys been watching Narcos for chrissake? It’s what they do.
But no, it’s far more convenient for you to just sweep the past six years under the rug and blame Duterte isn’t it? Of course all of this has to be his HIS fault. Who else could it be, right? Him and his potty mouth and non-disente breeding. He is the monster. Not the guys who allowed the drug menace to grow – but the man trying to put a stop to it. Well here’s a bit of news for you, most Filipinos don’t share your point of view. And no matter how much you pay for that expensive PR campaign, you’re not fooling anyone.
As if this institutional blindness wasn’t bad enough, it gets so much worse when you realize that the politicians driving all this anti-Duterte crap really don’t give a rats ass about all this human rights stuff.
It’s all about politics for them. Just look at the Liberal Party’s record on media killings, or on the massacre of lumads and protesters, and the rise of the drug lords – and it’s pretty clear that the only reason their riding the issue now is because it can possibly be their only ticket back in Malacañan. Or so they think. And as long as they do, they are going to milk every death for all its worth. And to hell with the families of those who die, or the consequences for the rest of the country.
Make no mistake about it, the vested interests of the Liberal Party and their allies in mainstream media are the two biggest threats to the stability of the country right now.
While they continue to play footsies with the public and deny it, they have clearly gone beyond mere criticism, and are threading on the dangerous grounds of actively trying to undermine the presidency. Huwag na tayong maglokohan, halatang-halata naman na may media ops na nangyayari and the goal is to unseat Duterte. But at what cost? Sana meron sa inyong mag isip kung hanggang saan aabot ito, and if you are really willing to take it that far.
Martin Andanar himself admits that “the media in general has been in a fiesta the last six months using President Digong as their crowd drawer. It would be ideal if the media move on with new enterprising stories for nation building. Unfortunately, all these ‘microwave re-heated’ issues point to a few disgruntled people who want to throw us back to the dark ages.”
And it is really to the dark age that they would drag us. Back to the days when good honest Filipinos cowered in fear while the criminals ruled the streets – and the government of course. These over-fed assholes – yes, I am talking about Drilon, Pangilinan, Aquino, Hontiveros, De Lima, Trillanes, and that whole caravan of idiots – still can’t get over the fact that people really, honestly, sincerely, hate them and can’t wait for the next elections to kick their sorry asses out of government.
If there is anything that mounting body count is good for, it is as a gauge of the people’s real sentiments. It is a measure of what Filipinos are willing to accept in order to have peace and order, and is a direct reflection of their frustrations with the failures of past administrations. Kapit sa patalim is an apt description of the way people feel right now. And for majority of Filipinos, Duterte is not the problem, his critics are."
