According to them, they will not be encouraging Bato to resign but rather to “shape up”.
Bato received criticisms after a photo of him enjoying at a concert circulated, after the news about a Korean businessman who was killed inside Camp Crame broke out.
According to Bicol Party-list Representative Alfredo Garbin said that Bato should “reassess his leadership, whether he can still command respect from his men, and also change his “demeanor.”
“Dapat yung what the chief PNP office really deserves, yung demeanor and style ng leadership,” he added.
Meanwhile, Kabayan party-list Rep. Harry Roque insisted that Bato should focus on the problems at hand.
“Henceforth, I’m hoping na itong si General Bato will concentrate now on the difficult process of rebuilding PNP as an institution…
CIBAC party-list representative Rep. Sherwin Tugna also said that he should be sensitive to the demands of the public and service to the people. He also hopes that Bato will eventually shape up.
Meanwhile, dela Rosa has already declared his shame over the murder of a Korean businessman inside Camp Crame, and said that he would talk to President Duterte to offer his resignation, after several calls for him to resign surfaced.
