Nagkahamunan! Bato to Speaker Alvarez: Mag hara-kiri tayo ng sabay kung gusto mo
In an interview to PNP Chief Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa, he challenged House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez to commit suicide in the honorable Japanese way (harakiri) or a ceremonial suicide by ripping the abdomen with a dagger or knife.

“The case was solved, the mastermind was caught, we have identified his cohorts and are running after them. What more do they want? Do they want me to commit harakiri to make them happy? Harakiri is painful but if he will do it with me I would too,” said Dela Rosa.
Dela Rosa did not name the person but it was obvious that he was referring to Speaker Alvarez who recently asked him to resign and painted him as incapable of the task at hand.
“Dela Rosa should buckle down to work or better yet give the job to someone else who is dead serious in leading the PNP in its multi-pronged war against drugs, criminals and the scalawags within its ranks,” Alvarez said in a statement.
Dela Rosa said that the calls for his resignation are just a distraction to the administrations campaign against illegal drugs.

“I have a job to do, we have a long way to go. Just wait until after I ask permission o leave from the President. If he grants your wish, I will step down,” said Dela Rosa.
