In a speech at the Manila Hotel Friday night, Duterte said a certain person is planning to oust him.
"Next year, there will be mass demonstration, for all I care. Wala akong illusions. Do not give me a reason to go out because you might have…you might get your wish.” Duterte said.
Although Duterte did not named the person, he is obviously referring to Loida Nicolas-Lewis, the widow of Richard Lewis, the richest African-American businessman in the 1980s.
Last election, Loida Nicolas Lewis supported the campaign of Presidential bet Mar Roxas and Vice President Leni Robredo.
On her Facebook account, Lewis said that President Duterte may received a false information designed to divide the country.
"The allegations that I am supporting a plot to unseat President Duterte are a complete fabrication and totally false. They are simply not true and I deny them in the strongest possible terms. I am concerned that the President is being given misinformation designed to divide the country and advance the interests of a certain political group while casting Filipino Americans in an unfavorable light."
Lewis also said that she met Duterte last June in Davao City and she believes the President has a genuine intention to lead the Filipino people out of poverty, criminality and corruption.

"I met him for the first time last June when the US Philippines Society (that includes Ambassadors Negroponte and Maisto) of which I am a member, had a meeting with him in Davao.
We all came away with a feeling that this President has a genuine intention to lead the Filipino people out of poverty, criminality and corruption.”
