Duterte to Aquino: He didn`t know the gravity of drug problem
In a speech of President Rodrigo Duterte during the 80th founding anniversary of the National Bureau of Investigation in Manila, Duterte hit former president Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III for lacking knowledge on the country's drug problem.
"Maybe he (Aquino) did not realize the gravity of the situation because he simply did not know or never attempted to know how much is the scale of 3 million (drug users),” Duterte said.
Duterte lamented the problems and challenges he is facing to solve the drug problem and said that he is operating on a budget prepared by the Aquino Administration which he said half was already gone.
“If you are a president of a country that is racked with rebellion, extremism, and the flooding of drugs sometimes it can be hell. And sometimes you really ponder whether it would be right just to resign and say that, just invent an ailment and say I’m suffering from this cancer and I’d like to take a rest,” he said.
Duterte also slams the foreign governments urging him to focus on rehabilitation centers of drug dependents.

“I don’t know about the stupidity of foreign governments. They call me and ask me, ‘Why don’t you rehabilitate them?’ Correct. That is correct if you have the money,” Duterte said.
Duterte didn't forget Senator Leila de Lima who is being accused as a drug protector at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP).
“Some of the agents of this bureau testified against her. I don’t know them, but most of them are credible,” Duterte said, referring to the congressional probe into drug proliferation at the national penitentiary, which saw witnesses tagging De Lima as an alleged beneficiary of drug money.
