A letter to President Duterte: Change indeed has come, so your heart: which is now beating for the Marcoses.
A letter to President Rodrigo Duterte from a website named MUTYA_PH went viral on social media.
According to the letter, the writer was puzzled on what Duterte's definition of "healing" after allowing the burial of former president Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
The letter said Duterte reversed the Philippine history and belittled the sufferings of those who were tortured, raped and killed during the martial law.
The letter also said that Duterte betrayed millions of Filipinos.
Before the writer ends the letter, a statement was left which quoted "We cannot achieve greater heights with this dismembered Philippine skeleton. You are doomed to fail."
Read the full letter below:
"To President Duterte:
Now that you have already decided to bury the late dictator, murderer and plunder into the hallowed grounds of the Libingan ng mga Bayani; I hope that you can still step forward and fulfil your sweet promises of unity, healing, peace and real change for your country.
I am still puzzled of what is indeed your personal definition of “healing”, because what you have done to the country— the real majority, (outside the 16 million votes) was tantamount to genocide—you wiped out and reversed Philippine history, you belittled the sufferings of those who were tortured, raped and killed during the monstrous regime of your idol Ferdinand. You muted the moans and instead, you laughed at the ghost of the Desaparecidos.
Mr. President, you took an oath of allegiance to the constitution, and as a lawyer, you knew that the constitution upholds the rule of law, regime of truth, and enshrined in it, from cover to cover are the anti-dictatorial provisions. But why are you doing these?
In your illogical pursuit of progress, you miserably failed to consider your real mandate, you refused to listen, and you debased and degraded your Honorable office, notwithstanding your shameful and unbelievable actuations of cleansing the evil regime of the Marcoses, who created a black hole in our country.
Mr. President, forgive my language, but my English is not enough to express my frustrations which is also in consonance to the frustrations of the millions of Filipinos whom you betrayed.
Change indeed has come, so your heart: which is now beating for the Marcoses.
Look at our country now; it is even subdivided into worrisome transects. These divisions are detrimental and an anti-thesis to your promise. We cannot achieve greater heights with this dismembered Philippine skeleton. You are doomed to fail"
